Many of you must have faced this same error “Error adlmPITSetProductInformation failed” while installing AutoCad 2010 or any other Autodesk product. The message “adlmPITRemoveProductInformation failed” may indicate a corruption in the ProductInformation.pit file and for some this can happen because of absence of ProductInformation.pit file. The ProductInformation.pit file can be found on the workstation in the following locations:

Microsoft Windows XP
C:\Documents and settings\All Users\Application Data\Autodesk\ADLM\ProductInformation.pit

Microsoft Windows Vista
C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ADLM\ProductInformation.pit

Note: Solution for this problem is manually remove this file and reinstall the Autodesk software
OR
copy this ProductInfromation.pit file to the above location from any other computer or make sure you backup your old copy of this file before you install doesn’t matters even if this file is of your old version but it should not be older then any of autodesk 2007 version and make sure that you don’t have any other autodesk product install before replacing this file. This trick worked form me.. you wont find this trick any where on the web.

Please let me know if this solution solved this particular issue for you.

Thank you.
